Nepal Earthquake: Strong earthquake felt in neighboring country Nepal, no news of loss of life or property

Nepal Earthquake : Earthquake tremors were felt in India’s neighboring country Nepal on Friday. This earthquake occurred in Sankhuwasabha district of the country. Whose intensity is said to be 4.7 magnitude. But, there is no immediate news of any loss of life or property due to the earthquake.

According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center (NEMRC), the earthquake occurred at 3.18 am on Friday and its epicenter was at Topke Gola near the Sankhuwasabha-Taplejung border area, about 400 km east of Kathmandu. The tremors of the earthquake were also felt by people in neighboring districts including Bhojpur, Panchthar and Tehrathum districts. Earlier on January 11, an earthquake of 3.9 magnitude was recorded near Bansar in Lamjung district. Nepal is at number 11 among the countries most affected by earthquakes in the world.

It is noteworthy that the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Nepal on April 25, 2015 was the most devastating disaster in decades, in which about 9,000 people died and more than 10 lakh houses were destroyed. This earthquake, centered near Kathmandu, destroyed historical heritages. More than 80 lakh people of the country were affected by this earthquake.
