Nepal Election Results: Counting of votes continues, Ravi Lamichhane’s RSP heading towards a huge majority, leading on 44 seats.

Kathmandu. In Nepal, Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP), the party of former Deputy Prime Minister Ravi Lamichhane, has taken a huge lead in the initial trends of counting of parliamentary elections. It is noteworthy that after the Gen Z movement in September, voting was held on Thursday for the election of members of the Lower House of Parliament. In the trends so far, out of 275 seats in the House of Representatives, RSP is leading on 44 seats.

The party has received tremendous public support in almost all the seven provinces. Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) President and former Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Sharma is leading from Oli over Mr. Lamichhane in Chitwan-2 and Mrs. Sobita Gautam is leading from Renu Dahal, daughter of former Prime Minister and Nepali Communist Party coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal, in Chitwan-3.

Mr. Sharma Oli of the District Election Office got 2,087 votes till 10:00 am. RSP has said that Indira Rana Magar is leading in Jhapa constituency-2. He got 1,599 votes, while CPN-UML candidate Devraj Ghimire got 275 votes. RSP is leading in all the constituencies of Kathmandu Valley. With more than twelve thousand votes, Mrs. Ranju (Darshan) Neupane is on the verge of winning Kathmandu-1 for the first time.

In Kathmandu, RSP’s Sasmit Pokharel is leading by a huge margin (5985) against Nepali Congress’s Pradeep Paudel (1840). According to election officer Chapala Pokharel, RSP candidate Shishir Khanal is currently leading by 5,771 votes in Kathmandu-6.

Similarly, Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Krishna Baniya has received 1,310 votes, while CPN (UML) candidate Aman Kumar Maski has received 1,086 votes. CPN-UML candidate Prakash Shrestha got 904 votes, while Nepali Congress’ Pramoddhari Gurgain got 720 votes.
