Diplomatic Ties Nepal Minister India Visit: Nepal’s Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal is coming on a 3-day official visit to India from June 5. This important visit was done by Indian Foreign Minister S. It is happening on the special invitation of Jaishankar. This visit is being considered a major diplomatic change to improve the cold relations between the two countries. Kathmandu now wants to end the old distance and build good and strong relations with India again.
There will be formal talks between India and Nepal on many important issues like trade, energy and investment. Earlier, Nepal’s ruling party chief Ravi Lamichhane had also visited India. He met Prime Minister Narendra Modi for about an hour and presented him the idol of Pashupatinath temple. It is expected that this visit of Shishir Khanal will convert the good political environment into many concrete agreements.
New hope for improvement in India and Nepal relations
There had been some sourness in the relations between India and Nepal for some time. This situation had arisen due to the Indian Foreign Secretary not meeting Nepal’s Prime Minister Balen Shah. However, the Indian Government had declared all these media reports to be completely wrong. This visit clearly indicates that Nepal wants to improve mutual understanding again.
Experts believe that stable relations with India are very important for Nepal. Economically and strategically, Nepal is dependent on India for its security and development. At the same time, India also wants that its strong position in Nepal should always remain intact. In view of the increasing influence of China, it is necessary for India to maintain good relations with Nepal.
Important agreements will be in focus during Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal’s visit
During this visit, both the countries will conduct a detailed review of areas like hydropower and cross border connectivity. Earlier the pace of work in these important areas had slowed down a bit, which will now be accelerated. According to Nepalese sources, some very important agreements may also be signed during this visit. After completing his visit on Saturday, Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal will return back to Kathmandu.
