Nepal won the match in T20 World Cup after 12 years, defeated Scotland by 7 wickets
The 33rd match of T20 World Cup 2026 was played between Nepal and Scotland. This match took place on 17 February at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. It was an exciting match. In this thrilling match, Nepal turned the tables in the last four overs and won by seven wickets.
This is Nepal’s first win in the T20 World Cup 2026. With Nepal’s victory, their campaign in the tournament ended. Nepal is in Group C and from this group West Indies and England have qualified for Super 8. Scotland and Italy are out of the tournament along with Nepal.

Scotland’s innings
Nepal won the toss and decided to bowl first. Coming to bat first, Scotland had a good start. In the first 12 overs, Scotland scored 101 runs losing one wicket. In the remaining eight overs, the team scored 69 runs losing six wickets. As a result, Scotland could score 170 runs after losing seven wickets in 20 overs.
For Scotland, Michael Jones scored the highest score of 71 runs, while George Munsey scored 27 runs. On the other hand, Sompal Kami took three wickets for Nepal. Nandan Yadav took two wickets, while Rohit Paudel and Kushal Bhurtel took one wicket each.

Nepal’s innings
Nepal had a slow start while chasing the target. Nepal scored 87 runs losing 2 wickets in the first 12 overs. But the team made a comeback and scored 84 runs losing only one wicket in the remaining 8 overs. As a result, Nepal scored 171 runs by losing 3 wickets in 19.2 overs and won the match by 7 wickets with 4 balls remaining.
For Nepal, Deependra Singh Airi scored the highest unbeaten 50 runs, while Kushal Bhurtel scored 43 runs. On the other hand, Michael Leask alone took all three wickets for Scotland.

Nepal got victory after 12 years
This match became special for Nepal, as it marked their first win in a T20 World Cup match in 12 years. Nepal has registered three wins in this tournament in its cricket history.
