Netanyahu ready to stop war with Hezbollah, but put forward two conditions

Netanyahu reiterated that Israel wants lasting peace with Lebanon, but this will require long-term security guarantees. In a video message, he said that Israel is ready for a peace agreement, but this is possible only if Hezbollah’s military power is destroyed.

He said, “Lebanon has contacted us several times in the past month to try to initiate direct peace talks. I have given approval, but with two conditions – first, Hezbollah’s weapons must be destroyed and second, there must be a peace agreement that will last for generations.”

This statement of Netanyahu has come at a time when the first phase of talks between America and Iran that lasted for several hours in Islamabad ended on Saturday night. This is considered an important part of the ongoing diplomatic efforts to reduce tension in West Asia.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army has claimed that it has targeted more than 200 Hezbollah positions in Lebanon in the last 24 hours. The army told X that its air force will continue attacks on Hezbollah structures in southern Lebanon.

All these developments are happening at a time when trilateral ceasefire talks have started in Islamabad between America, Iran and Pakistan. According to the report, this is considered to be the highest level conversation between Washington and Tehran after the Islamic Revolution of 1979.
