Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismissed Defense Minister Yoav Galant on Tuesday. Netanyahu said there was a lack of trust between them, which is not good in times of war. According to the Times of Israel, Foreign Minister Israel Katz will take over as Defense Minister.

At the same time, Gideon Saar will now be the Foreign Minister of Israel. A letter was handed over to Gallant from Netanyahu's office at 8 pm on Tuesday night. In this, Netanyahu had written that his tenure would end 48 hours after receiving the letter. I thank you for your service as Defense Minister.

Netanyahu had dismissed Gallant earlier also

Netanyahu said that most of the people in the government and cabinet are in favor of removing Gallant. With this, this is the second time in the last two years that Netanyahu has dismissed Gallant. Last time, Netanyahu had removed Gallant for demanding changes in the country's judicial system. However, he was returned to his post within a month.

Netanyahu said – Gallant took decisions against the cabinet

After this, Netanyahu informed about the removal of Yoav Galant from the post through a video message. Netanyahu said, “At the beginning of the war, there was trust between us, we worked together a lot, but in the last few months this trust between us was eroding. We did not agree with each other on many aspects of the war. Gallant Many times he has given such decisions and statements which did not have the consent of the Cabinet.

During this, the Israeli PM accused Gallant of taking advantage of the country's enemies. Netanyahu said, “I tried many times to reduce the distance between us, but it could not happen. Gradually it became visible to the public as well. The worst thing happened when our enemies started taking advantage of it.” “Our military operations are suffering because of lack of trust.”

Gallant said – protecting the country is the goal of my life

After leaving the post of Defense Minister, Gallant said, “The security of Israel has always been the goal of my life and I will continue to look forward to the security of the country.” After this, an emotional Gallant said in a press conference, “The reason for my dismissal was the need for the release of the people abducted in the October 7 attack and the demand for the formation of a commission of inquiry into the war.”

Gallant said that Israel is going to face many difficulties in the coming years. In such circumstances we will have no option. All the citizens of the country will have to come together and serve in the army, so that we can succeed in the mission of protecting Israel.
