Vashu Bhagnani Claims Netflix: Famous Bollywood producer Vasu Bhagnani has accused OTT platform Netflix of fraud. Based on the allegations made by him, the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Mumbai Police has started investigating Netflix and its associated companies. According to media reports, the producer has allegedly alleged in his complaint that Netflix has cheated him. Also, a conspiracy was hatched against the rights of three films.

These three films are 'Hero Number One', 'Mission Raniganj' and 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan', whose SVOD rights are centered around it. In this case, a written complaint has also been filed against Los Gatos Production Services India, Zoo Digital India and several officials of both the companies.

According to media reports, producer Vasu Bhagnani has claimed that Netflix has bought the SVOD rights of his three films 'Hero Number One', 'Mission Raniganj' and 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' but Rs 47.37 crore has not been paid by them yet. Let us tell you that SVOD rights means Subscription Video on Demand. This is a model in which the consumer pays a recurring fee to access the streaming service's content library.

According to reports, Vasu Bhagnani claims that his company Pooja Entertainment is being pressured to renegotiate the terms of the deal. He was even forced to give a film to Zoo Digital India. Bhagnani claims that the film was allegedly leaked online before its theatrical release, due to which he has suffered financial loss and his image has also been affected.

Netflix reacted

On the other hand, Netflix has denied the allegations of producer Vasu Bhagnani. According to media reports, the company claims that their deal is very strong. Their team is engaged in resolving this dispute. A Netflix spokesperson said in a statement that the allegations against them are completely baseless. Pooja Entertainment owes Netflix money.

Netflix says that it has always had a strong track record in its partnership with the Indian creative community. Its team is working with the authorities to resolve this dispute. Meanwhile, the police have also started an investigation into this matter.
