Netflix’s reboot of 13 Going on 30 has added Adeline Rudolph to its growing cast, Deadline reported exclusively. The British actress joins Emily Bader and Logan Lerman in the highly anticipated rom-com project. However, representatives for Netflix declined to comment on the casting news.
Notably, Rudolph’s specific role and the sequel’s logline currently remain under wraps. Meanwhile, Jennifer Garner returns as executive producer after starring in the 2004 original. Production on the reboot is set to kick off in Los Angeles in late June.
The original Columbia Pictures film centered on a 13-year-old girl who magically becomes her 30-year-old self. Furthermore, Garner starred opposite Mark Ruffalo in the beloved film directed by Gary Winick. It grossed approximately $96 million worldwide and later became a cultural touchstone through home video success.
Apart from the reboot, Garner recently executive produced a stage musical adaptation that world premiered at the Manchester Opera House. Brett Haley, who directed Netflix’s hit People We Meet on Vacation, will helm the project. Hannah Marks wrote the script, while Flora Greeson provided revisions. Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum produce for RK Films alongside executive producers Donna Roth, Susan Arnold, Scott Hemming, Alyssa Altman, and Marks.
As for Rudolph, she most recently portrayed Kitana in Warner Bros.’ Mortal Kombat II. Her earlier credits include Hellboy: The Crooked Man, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Riverdale, and Resident Evil. She will next appear in Amazon’s Reacher spinoff Neagley from Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton.
Additionally, Rudolph stars opposite Arden Cho in the K-pop thriller Perfect Girl from Hong Won-Ki and Badlands.
