Regular captain Scott Edwards will be leading the Netherlands T20 World Cup 2026 squad, which features a set of experienced players who have represented Dutch in recent years.
The squad comprises Roelof van der Merwe, Bas de Leede, Michael Levitt and Zach Lion-Cacher, who missed the Bangladesh tour following the Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Region Final.
Veteran All-rounder Colin Ackermann and Timm van der Gugten have been returned to the Netherlands T20I squad for the first time since 2024.
Logan van Beek makes his comeback as well, having last appeared for the Netherlands during the previous edition of the T20 World Cup.
Meanwhile, Teja Nidamanuru, Tim Pringle, and Vikramjit Singh, who featured in the Bangladesh series, miss out in the Netherlands T20 World Cup 2026 Squad, along with Cedric de Lange, Sikander Zulfiqar, Sebastiaan Braat, Daniel Doram, Shariz Ahmad and Ryan Klein.
Netherlands head coach Ryan Cook highlighted the side’s experience and their familiarity with Sri Lankan conditions.

“With experience in the past few World Cups, having played against all of the teams in our group recently and having exposure to the conditions in Sri Lanka and India, we are confident in our preparations over the past few months.”

“Our squad has depth and variety in options, which we feel will be effective against the opposition and in these conditions, as well as experience, which will be important as we look to advance through the group stages.”
Placed in Group A, the Netherlands will play their group stage games against Pakistan, Namibia, the USA and India.
This will be the seventh appearance for the Netherlands in the Men’s T20 World Cup. As per the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 schedule, the Netherlands will play their opening match against Pakistan on February 07 at the Sinhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground.
