New chapter in India-South Korea relations, step towards ‘futuristic partnership’…
India and South Korea have decided to take their bilateral relations to a new height and take them forward as a “Futuristic Partnership”. Under this important diplomatic initiative, both the countries have agreed to further strengthen cooperation in many global and strategic areas.
Let us tell you, in the high level talks held between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the President of South Korea, it was made clear that in the changing global scenario, both the countries will work together for the common goal of peace, stability and development. On this occasion, PM Modi said that India and Korea are not only increasing economic and technological partnership, but are also jointly finding solutions to global challenges.
The biggest highlight of the meeting was that South Korea has decided to formally join India’s two major global initiatives—International Solar Alliance (ISA) and Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative (IPOI). PM Modi called it a new beginning of trust and cooperation between the two countries.
He said that in today’s time when the world is going through various geopolitical tensions, India and South Korea together are giving the message of peace and stability. PM Modi also said that the partnership between the two countries has now moved beyond “trustworthy cooperation” to a “future-oriented partnership”.
Let us tell you, the International Solar Alliance, which was started by India and France in 2015, has today become a strong global platform of more than 120 countries. This alliance works to promote solar energy, make clean energy accessible and accelerate sustainable development globally. South Korea’s involvement will further strengthen the global solar mission.
On the other hand, the Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative (IPOI) is an important platform to connect countries in areas such as maritime security, disaster management, trade, connectivity and scientific cooperation. The objective of this initiative is to promote a secure, stable and rules-based order in the Indo-Pacific region.
India and South Korea also agreed that in the future, cooperation will be further expanded in areas such as chip manufacturing, shipbuilding, technology, energy, talent exchange and entertainment.
Experts believe that this partnership will not only open up economic opportunities for both the countries, but will also shape a new balance of power at the global level.
