Giving a new direction to women empowerment in Chhattisgarh, the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has announced to celebrate the coming year as ‘Mahtari Gaurav Varsh’. This decision is taken out of respect for mother power, Security And it has been taken keeping self-reliance at the center. The government believes that the foundation of developed Chhattisgarh can be laid only with the strong participation of women. This thinking is the foundation stone of Mahataari Gaurav Varsh.
The Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh Anjor Vision 2047 has been prepared in accordance with the Prime Minister’s goal of a developed India, in which the decisive role of women has been ensured. It has been resolved to take women empowerment, security, health, livelihood and social dignity to new heights during the ‘Mahtari Gaurav Varsh’. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that this year will write a new chapter of leadership and respect for mother power.
He said that the first year of service was dedicated as ‘Vishvas Varsh’ and the second year as ‘Atal Nirman Varsh’. Now the third year will be celebrated as Mahataari Gaurav Varsh dedicated to mothers and sisters, in which women will be the center of major schemes of the state.
In the last two years, many concrete steps have been taken regarding women empowerment. Under Mahtari Vandan Yojana, approximately 70 lakh married women are being given assistance of Rs 1,000 per month. So far, an amount of more than Rs 14,306 crore has been transferred directly into the accounts in 22 installments. Concessional loans to self-help groups, Mahtari Sadan, relaxation in property registration and women livelihood schemes have strengthened the economic independence of women.
One-stop centre, 181 helpline and dial 112 are being operated in an integrated manner for women safety. The budget allocation of Rs 8,245 crore for the Women and Child Development Department shows that Mahataari Gaurav Varsh is not just a declaration, but a concrete resolution.
