New Charlie’s Angels Movie’s Returning Stars Include a Shocking Character
More information about the reported upcoming Charlie’s Angels movie suggests that some returning stars could be on the horizon, including one major surprising one.
What’s the latest report on the new Charlie’s Angels?
In a recent Q&A session in his latest The InSneider newsletter, Jeff Sneider was asked about recent reports that Sony was developing a new Charlie’s Angels movie. The question, specifically, was if Drew Barrymore could be back, due to her production banner, Flower Films, was also expected to produce. Sneider said that not only is Barrymore expected back, but her co-stars are as well.
“I’m hearing that Barrymore and her fellow Angels, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu, are indeed expected to return for this new movie,” said Sneider. He went on to note that he isn’t sure whether or not they would be involved in lead roles or will simply be in the film in smaller roles. However, Sneider also noted that another major, surprising character could be back.
Demi Moore, who briefly appeared in 2003’s Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle as an ex-Angel, could also be returning. Sneider mentioned that screenwriter Pete Chiarelli has been tasked with finding a way to include her, even though Moore’s character seemingly died in a self-caused explosion in the movie.
The Charlie’s Angels franchise is based on the original Charlie’s Angels property, which premiered way back in 1976. The first film came out in 2000, with a sequel, Full Throttle, released in 2003. A third film, Charlie’s Angels, was also released in 2019 and starred Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska.
