New decree for ’employees’ in UP: Big change in leave rules
Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh government has made a big change regarding the leave system of government employees. Now all the government employees of the state will have to use the Manav Sampada portal to take leave. Chief Secretary SP Goyal has issued strict instructions in this regard and made registration on the portal mandatory.
Registration on the portal is mandatory
The government has clarified that employees of all departments should ensure their registration on the Manav Sampada Portal. Without this the leave process will not be valid. The Chief Secretary said that the Personnel Department has been issuing guidelines in this regard from time to time, but in the review it was found that the rules are not being followed completely in many departments. Keeping this in mind, it has now been decided to take strict action.
Letter sent to all departments
To implement this instruction, the Chief Secretary has sent a letter to all Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Heads of Offices, Divisional Commissioners and District Magistrates. The letter clearly states that all employees should be registered on the Manav Sampada Portal. The entire leave process should be completed through the portal only. Formalities related to leave should be completed digitally.
Why was this decision taken?
The objective of the government is to increase transparency and accountability in administrative functions. Service records of employees will be saved in digital form through Manav Sampada Portal. The leave approval process will be transparent. Irregularities and delays in paperwork can be reduced. Departmental monitoring will be easier. This step has been taken in the direction of promoting e-governance and making government work more effective through technology.
