This rule has come into full effect from 30 April 2026. Now banks will not be able to use these apps to collect customer data, transact money or send passwords. The government says that this step has been taken to prevent fraud and increase data security. Now customers will have to use only mobile app, online portal or bank branch.

On the other hand, the Meteorological Department (NCM) has issued a warning regarding heat. The temperature in the interior areas of the country may go up to 42°C to 46°C and in the coastal areas it will remain between 39°C to 44°C.
