New flavor of comedy-horror, trailer of Akshay Kumar’s ‘Bhoot Bangla’ released, the film will hit the theaters on April 17.
The trailer of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan’s new film ‘Bhoot Bangla’ has been released. The audience was waiting for this film for a long time, especially because Priyadarshan and Akshay together have given many successful films like ‘Hera Pheri’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’. But now that the trailer has come out, people’s expectations have got a bit of a shock. Users on social media are saying that this film feels like Priyadarshan’s old superhit ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’. The biggest objection the audience has is the film reusing some famous dialogues from Priyadarshan’s old films.
How is the trailer of the film ‘Bhoot Bangla’?
In the trailer of the film ‘Bhoot Bungalow’, Akshay Kumar is shown as the heir of a mysterious bungalow. This bungalow is situated at the edge of a dense and scary forest, which is known as ‘Pishaach Forest’. Paresh Rawal, who plays a supporting role in the film, tries to repeatedly warn Akshay about the dangers lurking in the bungalow. They advise Akshay to stay away from this place, but Akshay does not take these warnings seriously. They instead decide to have their wedding in this very bungalow, which gives a new twist to the story. Asrani also scares Akshay by saying that no one gets married in Mangalpur because an evil and powerful spirit named ‘Vadhusur’ resides here. At the end of the trailer, Akshay unknowingly wakes up this groom from his long sleep, after which strange and scary incidents start happening in the bungalow. All this promises to offer a unique blend of horror and comedy in the film.
In the trailer, there is a dialogue of Akshay Kumar ‘Behen Dar Gaye Behen Dar Gaye’ and Rajpal Yadav’s ‘Main Mandir Ka Ghanta Hoon Kya?’ It is becoming increasingly viral on social media. These dialogues are very similar to Priyadarshan’s previous successful films, which has shocked the audience. A well-known director like Priyadarshan is not expected to recreate old dialogues like this. People are openly expressing their displeasure regarding this on social media. A Twitter user wrote, “Priyadarshan Sir, you have to make memes. You don’t have to make your film with memes.” Many other users have also expressed the same opinion that reusing old dialogues weakens the originality of the film and shows a lack of creativity. The audience believes that when a director has so much experience and success, he should have offered something new and original.
Akshay Kumar-Priyadarshan duo gave many hit films
Actually, there was so much curiosity among the audience about ‘Bhoot Bangla’ because this film is once again bringing together successful director Priyadarshan and superstar Akshay Kumar. The pair has given many blockbuster films to Indian cinema, which not only performed well at the box office but also made their place in the hearts of the audience. Films like the 2000 comedy classic ‘Hera Pheri’, 2005’s ‘Garam Masala’, 2006’s ‘Bhagam Bhag’, 2007’s horror-comedy ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’, 2009’s ‘De Dana Dan’ and 2010’s ‘Khatta Meetha’ are part of the pair’s long list of successes. These films have made the audience laugh and entertain a lot, due to which there was tremendous enthusiasm among the fans about ‘Bhoot Bangla’ ever since its announcement. It was expected that this film would also offer something new and entertaining like his previous films, but after watching the trailer, this excitement seems to be turning into a bit of disappointment.
Along with Akshay Kumar, talented actors Vamika Gabbi, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav and Jisshu Sengupta will also be seen in important roles in this film. The specialty of Priyadarshan’s films has been that he makes best use of his comic timing by employing seasoned actors like Rajpal Yadav, Paresh Rawal and Asrani. This time too, Rajpal Yadav will be seen trying to make the audience laugh in his special style, which has been a highlight in his previous comedy films too. Tabu and Vamika Gabbi are also expected to add charm to the story with their roles.
The film will be released on April 17
Initially, this film of Akshay Kumar was scheduled to release on April 10. But considering the release of a big and much awaited film in the industry like ‘Dhurandhar 2’, the makers of ‘Bhoot Bangla’ decided to push its release date. Now ‘Bhoot Bangla’ will hit the theaters on 17th April, due to which it will get a little more space at the box office. Paid previews of the film will begin on April 16 at 9 PM, which means select audiences will be able to experience the film a day early. The makers hope that the paid previews will provide good ‘word of mouth’ publicity to the film, which will bring audiences to theaters in large numbers upon its main release. This strategy is often adopted by big banner films to take advantage of the initial audience response.
Overall, the trailer of ‘Bhoot Bangla’ has been released and mixed reactions are coming out about it. The audience had high expectations from the successful pairing of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan, but the recreation of old comedy elements and dialogues in the trailer has disappointed some fans. Now it will be interesting to see how well the film performs at the box office and on the expectations of the audience after its release in theaters on April 17. Only time will tell whether this pair of Priyadarshan and Akshay will be able to create magic once again, or the audience’s disappointment will weigh heavy on the film’s collection.
