New government in Jammu and Kashmir: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Surinder Chaudhary new Deputy CM, know who became the ministers?

New Delhi. For the first time after the abrogation of Article 370, Omar Abdullah has taken oath as the first Chief Minister at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Center (SKICC) after the victory of the National Conference in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.

Jammu and Kashmir has got a new Chief Minister in the form of Omar Abdullah after 10 years. Today six MLAs including Omar Abdullah have taken oath. Along with Omar Abdullah, Surinder Chaudhary, Satish Sharma, Javed Ahmed Dar, Sakina Itu, Javed Rana have taken oath as ministers from the National Conference. Surinder Chaudhary has been made Deputy CM.

Congress's decision to stay out of the government

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief Tariq Hameed Karra today said that the Congress party is not currently joining the ministry in the Jammu and Kashmir government. Congress has made a strong demand from the Center to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, apart from this the Prime Minister has also promised this several times in public meetings. But statehood has not been restored to Jammu and Kashmir. We are unhappy so we are not joining the ministry at the moment, the JKPCC chief said and added that the Congress party will continue the fight to restore statehood.

People of Jammu and Kashmir suffered a lot after 2019: PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti

PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti said that Jammu and Kashmir has got its own government after many years. People have elected a stable government. It is a very difficult period for Jammu and Kashmir. After 2019, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have suffered a lot. We hope that the government that is formed will be the first to heal these wounds. First of all, pass a resolution regarding the problems faced by the people due to the decision of 5th August 2019 and condemn that decision.
