New Highway: Traveling from Delhi to Chennai will be easy, this expressway will be built soon

New Highway: Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has made a big announcement saying that the proposed North-South Green Expressway will reduce the distance from Delhi to Chennai by 320 kilometers. With this the travel time will be reduced by about 15 hours.

The journey will be completed in 12 hours by car, 20 hours by truck

After the completion of the Green Expressway, the Delhi-Chennai journey can be covered by car in just 12 hours and by truck in 20 hours. Gadkari gave this information at the Logistics Council organized by CII (Confederation of Indian Industries) in Nagpur.

Highway work completed till Surat

Nitin Gadkari said that the work of Green Expressway till Surat in Gujarat has been completed. The next phase has also received approval from the Union Cabinet. At present the route from Delhi to Chennai goes via Surat-Mumbai-Pune-Kolhapur or Solapur, but the new expressway will make this journey completely direct and fast.

Traffic will reach Chennai directly through the new route

The new green expressway will reach Chennai via Surat–Nashik–Ahilyanagar (formerly Ahmednagar)–Akkalkot–Kurnool. Apart from this, this expressway will also connect big cities like Kanyakumari, Hyderabad, Bengaluru.

Bengaluru-Chennai in just 2 hours by December

Gadkari said that by December, the journey from Bengaluru to Chennai can be completed in just 2 hours, the distance from Bengaluru to Mysore in 1 hour. This will give a huge boost to road connectivity in South India.

Travel time will also reduce on Delhi-Katra and Srinagar routes

Green Expressway and other highway projects will also significantly reduce travel time on major routes like Delhi-Jaipur, Delhi-Amritsar, Delhi-Katra, Delhi-Srinagar.
