Honda introduced new Activa e, battery swapping service will start in Bengaluru, New Delhi, Mumbai from 2025
Obnews Automobile Desk: Honda Power Pack Energy India (HEID), the battery swapping arm of Honda Motor Company, has announced that it will start battery swapping services for Honda Activa e: electric scooter in Bengaluru from February 2025 and in Delhi and Mumbai from April 2025. Will do.
Honda Activa e: Electric version
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) launched the electric version of its best-selling Activa scooter, Honda Activa e:, on 27 November 2023. This new electric scooter has swappable batteries, which will be developed and maintained by HEID. Additionally, HEID has introduced another electric scooter called Honda QC1 on the same day, which has a fixed battery setup.
Battery swapping network expansion
HEID aims to set up a network of 250 battery swapping stations in Bengaluru, 150 in Delhi and 100 in Mumbai by March 2026. To access these stations users will need to register for membership through the HEID mobile app when they purchase a Honda Activa e.
Additionally, HEID has partnered with HPCL, BMRCL, DMRC, Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited and HMSI dealerships to install battery exchangers (Honda Power Pack Exchanger e:) at strategic locations. These exchangers will be used for swappable batteries in two-wheelers and auto-rickshaws.
Honda Activa e: Features
Honda Activa e: Has two 1.5kWh swappable batteries, offering a range of 102 km on a full charge. Its battery powers a 6kW permanent magnet synchronous motor, which produces 22Nm of peak torque. It has three riding modes – Econ, Standard and Sport, in which the top speed in Sport mode is 80 km/h. It accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h in 7.3 seconds.
It features a seven-inch TFT display, which is equipped with advanced connectivity features and can be accessed through the Honda RoadSync Duo smartphone app. This display supports navigation and can be operated via a toggle switch on the handlebar.
What is its price?
Honda Activa e: Bookings will begin from January 1, 2025, while deliveries will begin from February 2025. This scooter will be available in five color options: Pearl Shallow Blue, Pearl Misty White, Pearl Serenity Blue, Matte Foggy Silver Metallic, and Pearl Igneous Black.
The Honda QC1, on the other hand, has a fixed 1.5kWh battery pack, which powers a compact in-wheel motor. This setup gives it a range of 80 km and a top speed of 50 km/h.
