New injury for Porzingis: “I’ve dealt with this before”

Kristaps Porzingis left the game due to lower back spasmsputting his availability for the next matchup against the Atlanta Hawks in serious doubt.

The issue surfaced in the opening minutes, but worsened in the second quarter, particularly after a few physical plays involving Jalen Duren.

On his final possession, Porzingis tried to chase down a long pass and was pushed from behind by Duren. Upon landing, the Warriors big immediately grabbed his back and asked to be subbed out.

When I was warm, I felt fine, but on that play I felt pain. We’ll see. Maybe tomorrow I’ll feel better

After heading to the locker room accompanied by the medical staff, he was officially ruled out at halftime.

Porzingis’ outlook

The game against the Atlanta Hawks isn’t just any matchup—it will be his first against his former team since being traded in February. However, his status remains highly uncertain.

Despite the injury, the player doesn’t seem overly concerned:

I know how to manage it. I’ve had similar situations in the past

A reassuring sign, but it remains to be seen whether it will be enough to avoid missing time.
