New Iranian President requests ceasefire… Trump makes new claim
New Delhi: US President Donald Trump has said that Iran’s “new president” has contacted him and asked for a ceasefire. But the US president has set his own conditions for the ceasefire. Trump wrote in a post on his social media account, Truth Social, “The president of Iran’s new regime, who is far less radical and far more intelligent than his predecessors, has just requested a ‘ceasefire’ from the United States!”
Trump stated his conditions for a ceasefire, saying, “We will only consider it once the Strait of Hormuz is completely open, free, and secure. Until then, we will continue to completely destroy Iran. Or, as the saying goes, push them back to the Stone Ages!” Trump had said earlier this morning (April 1) that he would end the Iran war within 2-3 weeks.
His latest statement comes after this. However, he did not specify who he was referring to as the president of Iran’s new regime. Iran also issued a statement shortly after Trump’s statement. Iranian officials told Al Jazeera that, contrary to Trump’s claim, they have not demanded any ceasefire. Iran has categorically rejected Trump’s claim.
