Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is going to launch its new website, which is expected to completely change the experience of online ticket booking. According to the Railway Ministry, the new IRCTC website has been designed keeping in mind the shortcomings of the old portal. Its interface will be more simple and user friendly than before. IRCTC website is most used to book Tatkal tickets. Every day lakhs of passengers try to get Tatkal tickets, but due to high traffic the website often becomes slow or faces technical problems. In the new website, special attention has been paid to making the ticket booking process more effective. It is expected that this will make the website perform better even during high traffic and passengers will have less trouble in booking Tatkal tickets.

Changes happened after students’ complaints
A few weeks ago, a group of students met Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and informed about many problems related to the existing IRCTC website. He had told that during ticket booking, the speed of the website becomes slow, captcha has to be filled repeatedly and many unnecessary pop-ups also appear. Taking these suggestions seriously, the Railway Minister directed the officials to develop the website afresh. After this, a new website was prepared, in which an attempt has been made to solve the problems of the users.
Feedback from users taken before launch
Before finalizing the new website, Railways showed its beta version to some students and also took suggestions from them. Based on these suggestions, necessary changes were made in the website, so that passengers could get a better and smoother experience at the time of launch. Railways believes that the new IRCTC website will not only make ticket booking easier but will also save time for passengers. With better speed, modern design and user-friendly features, this portal is considered an important step towards giving a new experience to the digital services of Indian Railways.
