New MINI Cooper S Victory Edition Brings Vintage Rally Heritage For Rs 57.50 Lakh
The BMW Group has introduced a highly exclusive offering for driving purists with the launch of the new MINI Cooper S Victory Edition. Priced at Rs 57.50 lakh ex-showroom, this special edition arrives as a completely built-up unit. Dealership bookings are officially open and deliveries have commenced immediately across the country, following the vehicle’s debut at a newly opened showroom in Jaipur.
This limited run model is a direct homage to one of the most famous moments in motorsport history. It celebrates the brand’s legendary victory at the 1965 Monte Carlo Rally, where Timo Makinen and co-driver Paul Easter piloted a classic Mini Cooper S to an unexpected and historic win. The new edition captures that same aggressive aesthetic and competitive spirit while delivering entirely modern performance.
Motorsport Inspired Aesthetics
Visually, the Victory Edition is impossible to ignore. It is exclusively available in a striking Chili Red exterior paintwork, heavily contrasted by a black panoramic glass roof. A bold white trim stripe runs continuously from the bonnet across the roof to the rear, significantly enhancing its athletic stance. The exterior lighting also gets a unique touch, with three selectable signature modes for the LED daytime running lights and the redesigned matrix rear lights. These modes include specially orchestrated welcome and goodbye animations when locking or unlocking the vehicle.
To further cement its rally heritage, the vehicle features a prominent white 52 graphic on both doors, directly referencing the racing number of the original 1965 winning car. A subtle 1965 sticker on the C-pillar serves as an additional nod to the historic year. The car rides on standard 18-inch John Cooper Works Lap Spoke two tone alloy wheels, which fill the wheel arches perfectly and ensure optimum grip on diverse road surfaces.
Minimalist But Sporty Cabin
Inside, the cabin blends vintage racing cues with highly advanced digital architecture. The door sills greet passengers with specific 1965 lettering set against a red and black background. The interior features John Cooper Works sports seats upholstered in Vescin Black, a premium artificial leather crafted from recycled materials. Staying true to modern sustainability trends, the dashboard and door panels are completely leather-free and chrome-free.
The technology package is centered around the massive 240mm circular OLED touchscreen display, running the completely new MINI Operating System 9. This interactive unit controls almost everything in the cabin and pairs seamlessly with a Harman Kardon surround sound system. Buyers also benefit from the Digital Key Plus feature, which turns a paired smartphone into the vehicle key. Drivers get access to specific experience modes, including a race inspired Go Kart mode that alters the throttle response, interior lighting, and engine sound for a far more engaging drive.
Turbocharged Powertrain
Under the hood, the Victory Edition retains the potent mechanicals of the standard Cooper S. It is powered by a lively petrol engine equipped with TwinPower Turbo technology. This setup produces a peak output of 204 horsepower and a maximum torque of 300 Nm. This broad spread of torque ensures excellent mid-range punch, making it equally capable for quick city overtakes and sustained highway cruising.
Power is sent to the front wheels through a quick shifting 7-speed double clutch Steptronic sport transmission. The car sprints from zero to 100 kmph in a brisk 6.6 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 242 kmph. To rein in this performance, the vehicle is equipped with high performance sport brakes and an adaptive suspension system.
For ownership convenience, the manufacturer is offering a standard two-year warranty with unlimited kilometers and extensive service packages that can be extended up to ten years or 1,00,000 kilometers. Customers can also opt for specialized financial plans that include an assured buy back option up to five years.
