Lucknow. A new update has come out regarding inter-district transfers of teachers in the Basic Education Department of Uttar Pradesh. In the new instructions issued by the government, the rules regarding transfer in case both husband and wife are teachers have been clarified.
According to the new order, if both husband and wife are teachers in Basic Education Council schools, then only the transfer request of the teacher who has himself applied will be considered. This means that the husband or wife will not be transferred without applying.
Changes made to earlier rules
In the guidelines issued earlier, there was a provision under the couple policy that if both the husband and wife are teachers in council schools and one of them applies, then the transfer of either of them can be considered keeping in mind the teacher-student ratio. Now in the new order, this arrangement has been clarified and it has been said that the process will proceed only in the case of the teacher who has applied.
Under what circumstances can transfer take place?
The department has made a provision to allow transfer in some cases considering humanitarian and special circumstances. These include the situation of disability of the teacher or his spouse or unmarried son or daughter. Apart from this, transfer can also be considered in case of serious illnesses such as cancer or dialysis.
Instructions were also given regarding census duty
Earlier it was also said by the government that a large number of teachers have been employed in census related work. In such a situation, work can be affected due to large number of transfers happening simultaneously. For this reason, keeping in mind the special circumstances, it was decided to proceed with the process only in limited cases.
Important updates for teachers by the department
After the new order, teachers will have to carefully check the information related to their transfer application and eligibility. The department has made it clear that only requests made as per the rules will be considered. This change is especially important for those teacher couples who were waiting for inter-district transfer.
