New possible list of Modi Cabinet leaked! These veterans can become the new Finance Minister, will Dharmendra Pradhan be made the chair?

Before the beginning of the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament, a huge stir has started in the political circles of the country. There is a strong discussion in the political circles of Delhi that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to make a big and shocking reshuffle in his cabinet. Under this possible change, many big ministers may be removed, while the portfolios of some ministers embroiled in controversies may be completely changed. The biggest reshuffle can be seen in the Finance Ministry, where former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das can be made the new Finance Minister of the country, while the current Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman can be given a new and heavy responsibility of the Education Ministry.

Crisis on Dharmendra Pradhan’s chair

The main reason for this entire reshuffle is believed to be the recent NEET paper leak case that shook the country. Ever since this mega-scam came to light, all the student organizations and opposition parties of the country have been adamant on the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Amidst the sharp protests against him across the country, it is now believed to be almost certain that Prime Minister Modi can make a major face change in the Education Ministry to calm the public anger. However, some senior political analysts also believe that if Dharmendra Pradhan is removed directly, it may send a message that the government has bowed down to pressure, hence his department may be changed and some other organizational work may be assigned to him.

Shaktikanta Das can create history like Manmohan Singh

If 69-year-old former IAS officer Shaktikanta Das becomes the country’s Finance Minister, he will join the special category of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and the country’s first RBI Governor CD Deshmukh in the history of India. CD Deshmukh was the Finance Minister of the country from 1950 to 1956, while Manmohan Singh became the Finance Minister in 1991 after being the Governor from 1982 to 1985. Shaktikanta Das has very deep and long practical experience in the country’s economic policies, tax system and investment matters. While working in the Finance Ministry, he has been a direct part of the country’s budget preparation process 8 times. His excellent work as the Governor of the Reserve Bank from 2018 to 2024 has been appreciated globally and he has also been awarded with major awards of A+ rating at international forums.

Das can be sent to Rajya Sabha from UP

Shaktikanta Das is currently not a member of any house of Parliament. According to the rules of the Indian Constitution, after becoming a minister, he will have to take membership of Parliament within 6 months. Sources say that the government may send him to Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh quota. Actually, 10 Rajya Sabha seats from Uttar Pradesh are going to become vacant in November 2026, out of which Shaktikanta Das can easily be sent to Parliament on one seat.

NDA’s eyes fixed on upcoming elections of UP and Punjab

Modi government is also keeping in mind the upcoming assembly elections of Uttar Pradesh and Punjab in this cabinet expansion. In view of the elections to be held in Punjab in the year 2027, a big and established Sikh face can be included in place of Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. There are speculations that Raghav Chadha, who left the Aam Aadmi Party, or senior BJP leader Tarun Chugh may get a big responsibility in Delhi. At the same time, the current Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu can be relieved from the cabinet and given the important responsibility of strengthening the party on the ground in Punjab.

Nitish Kumar and Shrikant Shinde may have a big entry.

There is also complete preparation to make allies in this new cabinet. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar himself may be given a very important portfolio in the Union Cabinet. Along with this, the name of Shrikant Shinde, son of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde from Maharashtra, is at the top in the list of ministers. It was Shrikant Shinde who brought 6 Shiv Sena UBT MPs to the NDA fold, for which he may get a reward in the form of a ministerial post at the Centre. Apart from these, Sukhendu Shekhar Rai, who left TMC and joined NCPI, is also considered almost certain to get a place in the new cabinet.

RSS preparing to attack bureaucrats and ministers

According to political experts, in this reshuffle, special care is being taken of the choice and feedback of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Recently, a highly confidential and long meeting was held between top officials of BJP and Sangh. After this meeting, it is being indicated that the roles of two big faces, who came directly from the bureaucratic background and became cabinet ministers, i.e. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Hardeep Singh Puri, can be reduced a little compared to before, so that the basic political workers connected to the ground can get more opportunities.
