New railway bridge on Yamuna ready, trains going to UP-Bihar will get speed, inauguration soon – News

The speed of trains crossing Yamuna river in Delhi is now going to increase. Preparations have been completed to get the green signal for the operation of the new railway bridge built right next to the historic and old Loha Bridge (Old Yamuna Bridge). The bridge has been found safe after a thorough inspection by the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS), paving the way for its inauguration. This important rail link will be opened for traffic as soon as the final permission is received from the Railway Board.

If there are no technical hurdles, then Prime Minister Narendra Modi can inaugurate in the last week of January or early February.

Lakhs of passengers are waiting for the opening of this new bridge. According to the plan, if there is no last-minute technical hurdle, Prime Minister Narendra Modi can inaugurate this bridge in the last week of January or early February. As soon as this new bridge becomes operational, the movement of trains passing through Delhi, especially those crossing Yamuna, will become smoother than before and passengers will not have to face unnecessary delays.

Found an alternative to the 150 years old ‘Loha Bridge’ of the British era, now there will be no brakes on the speed of trains.

It is worth noting that the old iron bridge through which trains pass till now is built in the 19th century and is more than 150 years old. Due to security reasons, the speed of trains on the old bridge has to be kept very limited, due to which trains often queue up. Also, Railways has to bear huge expenses in its maintenance. With the commissioning of the new bridge, the load on the old bridge will be reduced and trains will be able to run with their full capacity and higher speed on this bridge built with new technology.

The journey of trains going from Delhi to UP, Bihar and Eastern India will be easy, there will be a big relief from the problem of delay.

This new bridge is a major achievement for the railway network, which will prove to be a lifeline especially for trains going from Delhi to Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Eastern India. Often, due to low capacity of the bridge between Old Delhi and Shahdara, trains had to stop at Outer. With the opening of this new bridge, not only will the punctuality of trains improve, but there will also be a huge reduction in problems like overcrowding and long delays.
