New responsibility to Jeevika Didis in Bihar, benefits to villages
Patna. Bihar government has taken another important step towards making government services easy and accessible in rural areas. Now Jeevika Didis will not be limited to just livelihood and social work, but will also go from village to village and handle the responsibility of e-Nibandhan (online registration). With this decision of the government, villagers will get relief from making rounds of registration offices.
Responsibility of e-registration given to Jeevika Didis
To simplify the registration process, Nitish government has jointly assigned this responsibility to the Prohibition, Excise and Registration Department and Jeevika (Bihar Rural Livelihood Promotion Committee). Under this, literate and technically competent Jeevika Didis will get e-registration done in rural areas and will also make people aware about it. She will be known as “Digital Didi cum Sakshaka Didi”.
Provision of training and resources
According to departmental officials, soon the selected Jeevika Didis will be given special training. They will be given complete information about computer operation, internet usage, filling online forms, uploading documents and depositing registration fees. Along with this, necessary facilities like computer, printer and Wi-Fi will also be provided to the selected didis. This scheme will first be started as a pilot project.
Which sisters will get priority?
The government has decided to give priority for this work to more than one thousand Jeevika Didis who have matriculation, intermediate, computer diploma or other technical education. These Didis will not only provide information to the villagers about land e-registration but also other important services like marriage registration, Godnama registration.
Will benefit from Jeevika Network
At present about 1.50 crore Jeevika Didis are active in Bihar. Jeevika offices are run in every block of the state, where hundreds of Didis are working. Apart from this, Didi Adhikar Kendras are also being operated in rural areas, where various certificate related services are being provided.
Villagers will get great relief
This initiative will make it easier for villagers to understand the e-registration process and the registration work will become fast, transparent and reliable. Also, availability of digital services at the village level will save both time and money.
