New rule implemented for ‘health workers’ in UP, know details
Lucknow. The Health Department has taken a big decision to make the functioning of government hospitals in Uttar Pradesh more transparent and disciplined. Now it has been made mandatory for doctors and health workers working in all government hospitals of the state to register biometric attendance. Under the new rule, no officer or employee will get salary without biometric attendance.
The rule will be applicable in all hospitals
According to the order issued by the Health Department, this system will be implemented in all government medical units including District Hospital, Women’s Hospital, Community Health Center (CHC) and Primary Health Center (PHC). The department has made it clear that now any kind of negligence regarding attendance will not be tolerated.
Strict instructions to officials
The Director of the Health Department has issued orders in this regard to all the District Directors and Chief Medical Officers (CMOs). It has been said in the order that in order to ensure a transparent system as per the intention of the government, the daily attendance of officers and employees posted in all medical units should be recorded through biometric system and monthly salary should be paid on the same basis.
Discipline and monitoring will be strengthened
After this decision, it is expected that the arbitrariness of doctors and staff in hospitals will be stopped. Complaints like not reaching the hospital on time, being absent without notice and coming late can now be easily monitored. This will not only improve the work culture, but patients will also be able to get timely medical services.
Continuous efforts continue towards improvement
It is noteworthy that the state government is continuously taking steps to improve health services. Health Minister Brajesh Pathak also keeps reviewing the arrangements by conducting surprise inspections of hospitals from time to time. This decision of biometric attendance is being considered an important step towards making the health system of the state more accountable and effective.
