New rule implemented! This condition has to be fulfilled for LPG cylinder, otherwise the supply may stop –
LPG new rule: A big change can be seen regarding LPG in the country. The government is now taking steps towards making the LPG cylinder distribution system more transparent and targeted. Under the new rules, now consumers will have to follow some important conditions to maintain the gas connection, otherwise their supply may be affected.
According to sources, the government aims to ensure that the subsidy benefits reach only those who are truly eligible. For this, conditions like KYC, Aadhaar linking and regular usage can be strictly implemented. For consumers whose data is incomplete or whose cylinder has not been taken for a long time, their supply may be temporarily stopped.
Why is the government’s focus increasing on PNG?
The government’s inclination is now rapidly moving towards Piped Natural Gas (PNG). The biggest reason for this is convenience, safety and environmental awareness. PNG gas reaches homes directly through pipeline, eliminating the hassle of cylinder booking, delivery and storage.
Apart from this, PNG is considered safer than LPG, because it has less risk of leakage and being a light gas, it spreads quickly. It is also a better option from environmental point of view, because it reduces pollution.
Rapid expansion in urban areas
The government is rapidly expanding the PNG network in urban areas. A target has been set to connect more and more cities with this facility in the coming years. This will not only provide relief to consumers, but the gas distribution system will also become more organized.
What is important for consumers?
If you are an LPG consumer, it is important that you complete all the formalities of your gas connection on time. As:
Linking Aadhaar and mobile number
Updating KYC from time to time
