New scheme implemented in UP, relief to farmers of all districts
Lucknow. The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has implemented a comprehensive scheme to facilitate farmers and increase crop production. This scheme, specially designed for April 2026, aims to completely eliminate the shortage of fertilizers in the state and provide timely fertilizer to every district.
Ensure availability of adequate fertilizer
The government has paid special attention to adequate availability of major fertilizers like Urea, DAP and NPK. At the same time, the officials of the Agriculture Department have been instructed to deliver fertilizers to every district as per the demand on time, so that the farmers do not face any problem during sowing and crop growth.
transparent distribution system
To make fertilizer distribution transparent, committees will be formed under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate at all the fertilizer sales centers in the state. These committees will include officials from agriculture, revenue and other related departments, who will monitor the distribution.
Emphasis on balanced fertilizer use
Farmers will also be made aware about balanced fertilizer use. The government has advised them not to store more fertilizer than required and to use only the prescribed quantity per hectare (Urea maximum 7 bags, DAP 5 bags).
Supply Chain and Tracking
The role of cooperative societies has been strengthened in the scheme. Through this, fertilizer distribution will be increased, while about 35 percent share will be given to the private sector, so that the supply chain remains smooth. Additionally, the availability and distribution of fertilizer will be monitored through a real-time tracking system. There will also be regular review meetings at the district level.
