New Tata Punch Facelift 2026 – Ready to Become India’s Most Popular Micro SUV

Tata Punch Facelift: In the Indian car market, some cars don’t just sell well, they capture people’s hearts. The Tata Punch is one such car. Since its launch in October 2021, it has proven to be a game-changer for Tata Motors. Now, the company is preparing to launch it in a new avatar in early 2026. Recent spy shots have made it clear that the Tata Punch Facelift will not be just a minor update, but a significant and well-thought-out transformation.

exterior

Photos of the new Tata Punch Facelift seen during high-altitude testing in Munnar, Kerala open many secrets. The split headlamp setup with the same identity on the front has been retained, but now it will see a new style. Like Punch.ev, it will now be replaced by halogen with LED low and high beam units, which will fit into the new vertical housing.

Its front features a new upper and lower grille, with horizontal slats giving the car a much wider and stronger look. The bumper’s design also seems sharper than before, while the embossed design of the bonnet maintains Punch’s muscular identity. The side profile is expected to feature new 16-inch alloy wheels, which will further enhance its road presence. Light but effective changes can be seen in the taillamp and bumpers at the rear.

interior

Its biggest surprise is the interior of the Tata Punch Facelift. Spy shots see a new two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel clean, on which the illuminated Tata logo can be given. This is the same steering, which has now become an identity in Tata’s new cars.

A 10.25-inch larger touchscreen infotainment system can be seen on the dashboard, which will give more smooth and fast experience than before. Tata does not want to leave any stone unturned even in terms of comfort. Features such as ventilated seats can take Punch one step further in this segment. Keeping safety in mind, there is also a possibility of getting advance features like 360-degree camera and blind spot monitor.

Engine

If you talk about the engine, Tata Motors does not look in the mood to experiment much here. The Tata Punch Facelift is expected to have the same 1.2-liter Revotron petrol engine, which comes in both petrol and petrol-CNG options. In petrol mode, this engine gives power of 87 hp and torque of 115 Nm, while in CNG mode the figures are slightly reduced to 72 hp and 103 Nm.

An important update though may be that the 5-speed AMT gearbox be extended to the CNG variant as well. It will be a great relief for those who want to enjoy automatic driving with economical fuel.

Price and competition

The new Tata Punch Facelift may cost slightly more than the current model. Currently the X-showroom price of Tata Punch starts at Rs 5.49 lakh. The slight price hike is natural given the increased technology and features after the facelift.

In the market, it will directly compete with cars like Hyundai Exter and Maruti Ignis. But Tata’s strong build quality and safety focus make it different from the rest of the options.
