New threat to India-China in Central Asia, ‘Maharan’ equation is being created in Muslim world, who is writing the script of destruction?

Central Asia Strategy: A big and deep change is being seen in world politics. A new and strong friendship is taking shape between Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan regarding defense and strategy. Although this coordination has not yet materialized into a fully written agreement, its impact is beginning to be felt from the Middle East to South Asia and the borders of China.

This new equation in the politics of Muslim countries is challenging the old methods. This alliance is not limited to just three countries, rather its threads extend to Central Asia. Every country has its own role in this new partnership. This could be a cause of concern for India in Central Asia. It is also going to give sleepless nights to Pakistan’s friends.

How is the script of destruction being written?

In fact, Turkey wants to revive its old historical identity, Saudi Arabia is using its economic power and religious influence, while Pakistan is working as a bridge between the two with its military capability. Analysts believe that this new faction can create new spheres of influence on the world map.

New partnership of arms and money

Türkiye’s role is very important in this. Since 2010, Turkey has strengthened its relations with countries such as Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan through the Organization of Turkic States. The matter is no longer limited to just culture or language. Turkey has started providing its famous Bayraktar TB2 drones, electronic warfare systems and military training to these countries. This group is now becoming a strategic force.

On the other hand, Saudi Arabia is playing its own role in this trio. Saudi Arabia may not have the linguistic command of Türkiye, but its religious influence and financial power in the Sunni Muslim world is huge. Saudi Arabia has changed its policy in the last decade. Now it is investing heavily in energy, infrastructure and defense sectors in Pakistan. It is also conducting military exercises with Türkiye, which shows changing priorities.

Why alarm bells for China?

Pakistan, which is struggling with economic crisis, is playing the role of a military mediator in this new equation. Pakistan’s nuclear power gives it special importance in this entire region. The Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement signed between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan in the year 2025 is an indication that Pakistan is getting assurance of external security. Apart from this, Pakistan has emerged as a big market for Turkish defense companies.

According to experts, when Turkey’s historical influence and Saudi Arabia’s religious network work together in Central Asia, it could pose a challenge to the powers already present there. This development is a matter of greatest concern for China. China is always cautious about stability in its western region Xinjiang. If the influence of Türkiye and Sunni Muslim countries reaches China’s borders, it may become difficult for Beijing to manage its internal and cross-border security.
