New turn in Israel-UAE friendship: Secret arms deal exposed

Due to the ongoing conflict in Gaza, the entire Muslim world is demanding a boycott of Israel, while the United Arab Emirates (UAE), a powerful country of the Islamic world, has surprised the world by signing a secret security agreement worth 2.3 billion dollars (approximately more than Rs 19,000 crore) with Israel. According to the report of France-based ‘Intelligence Online’, under this deal, Israeli giant Elbit Systems will provide state-of-the-art electronic defense system to UAE.

This agreement is mainly for the safety of civil and military aircraft. According to sources, Israel will provide its famous ‘J-Music’ aircraft protection system to UAE. This system is equipped with state-of-the-art laser technology. When an aircraft is attacked by a surface-to-air missile (SAM), this system jams the missile’s sensors, causing the missile to miss the target.

Bezalel Machlis, President and CEO of Elbit Systems, indirectly admitted in a statement that this agreement will give the customer country Israel’s special and powerful military capability. This project will run for the next 8 years. Washington-based defense expert Bilal Sabey said that despite it being a big deal, its details were kept very secret.

After the Abraham Accords, there is continuous warming in the relations between Israel and UAE. After the death of thousands of Palestinian civilians in Gaza, the demand for imposing sanctions on Israel intensified in Europe and Muslim countries. However, UAE has chosen Israel to fend off all these pressures and strengthen its security. UAE’s government defense company ‘Edge’ has also come to light that it is continuously making new deals with Israeli companies.
