New twist in Saif Ali Khan case! Father of accused Shafikul made shocking revelation

Dhaka: Shariful Islam Sajjad's father Mohammad Ruhul Amin on Friday claimed that his son was innocent and urged India to release him immediately. Shariful was reportedly arrested in Mumbai in connection with the attacks on actor Saif Ali Khan.

Shariful Islam is a resident of Rajabaria village in Bangladesh's southern district of Jhalakathi, located more than 200 kilometers from the capital Dhaka. Mohammad Ruhul Amin has claimed that Shariful is the second son of his three sons.

Mohammad Ruhul Amin told ANI over phone, “I have come to know through various YouTube channels and journalists that my 30-year-old son Shariful Islam Sajjad has been arrested in India for attacking actor Saif Ali Khan.

“My son was arrested on suspicion because of his resemblance to the person involved in the attacks,” he said. My son is innocent.”

Mohammad Ruhul Amin said he would request the Bangladesh government to take diplomatic initiative for his son's release.
“I will go to the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry after 3 or 4 days and request the Bangladesh government to take diplomatic initiative to free my son,” he said.

Shariful Islam is associated with BNP politics

Mohammad Ruhul Amin claimed that his son had gone to India to escape persecution during Sheikh Hasina's tenure, as his family was associated with BNP politics. Amin said, “Since my family is associated with BNP, political opponents have harassed my sons by implicating them in false cases. Unable to live at home due to their harassment, he left the country.”

Urging India to release his son, he said Shariful Islam Sajjad had come to India six or seven months ago and “cannot attack such a big man within this time frame.”

He said, “Saif Ali Khan is a big man. My son went to India 6 or 7 months ago. He cannot attack such a big man within this time limit. My son is innocent. I am urging India to immediately release my son.”

Information obtained from fingerprint in investigation

Saif Ali Khan suffered knife wounds to his thoracic spine and other parts of his body following a violent confrontation with the accused on January 16. After the attack, he was immediately taken to Lilavati Hospital for treatment. In the ongoing investigation, the police found fingerprints of the accused on the stairs of the building, the toilet door and the door handle of her son Jeh's room. According to the police, the accused tried to enter three houses before reaching Saif Ali Khan's house with the intention of committing theft.

Mumbai Police believes that the fingerprints found will play an important role in the investigation. According to the police statement, the accused had entered the famous actor's house with the intention of stealing.

A case has been registered in these cases

A case has been registered under sections 311, 312, 331(4), 331(6) and 331(7) of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS). Furthermore, the police said that the accused was trying to escape to his native village in Bangladesh when he was detained at Hiranandani Estate in Thane. On Sunday, Bandra Holiday Court sent the accused to five-day police custody.
