New Delhi. Meta-owned WhatsApp introduced several new services on Friday. Under this, Apple iPhone users will now be able to run two accounts simultaneously on the same phone. Apart from this, new artificial intelligence (AI) tools have also been added for photo editing and writing messages. The company said that the Two Accounts, One Phone service, which was earlier available only for Android users, is now being launched on iOS as well.

WhatsApp said in its blog post that after this update, users will not need to have two separate phones for personal and work conversations. Users will be able to identify active accounts by the profile picture visible in the tab at the bottom of the app.

Amidst the increasing use of generative AI, WhatsApp has integrated Meta AI directly into chat. Users can now retouch a photo, remove unwanted elements, change the background or apply different styles before sending a photo. On possible security concerns related to AI tools, the company stressed that users’ chats will remain completely private.

The company also said that Meta AI services will not be available to all users immediately. With this, cross-platform chat transfer has also been made easier. The platform now officially supports transferring chat history (including photos and videos) from iOS to Android devices. The new services also include predictive sticker suggestions, under which a suggested sticker can be used in place of an emoji while typing. WhatsApp said that these new services are being released in a phased manner and will soon be available to all users.
