Many people wear helmets while riding bikes out of fear of the police. But no, this law has been in place for a long time. Otherwise, you will have to.
Many people wear helmets while riding bikes out of fear of the police. Many others wear helmets and hit the road without fastening the strap. However, many people think that if you wear a helmet, you are following the rules (Helmet Rules). But in reality, this is not the case. If you do not follow the rules even after wearing a helmet, then you may have to pay a fine of 1000 to 2000 Rs.
You have to follow these rules even if you wear a helmet
According to the Motor Vehicles Act, a helmet will be considered valid only when it is properly placed on the head and the strap is fastened. If the helmet strap is open or loose, then legally it is the same as not wearing a helmet. If the police see that the helmet strap is not fastened during traffic checking, then a challan may be issued against you according to section 184D of the Motor Vehicles Act. In that case, the fine can range from 1000 to 2000 Rs.
Many people think that this is a new rule. But no, this law has been in place for a long time. Many people do not give importance to this issue only due to lack of awareness. And this rule is not only for collecting money, but also for safety, because, if the strap is blocked, the helmet can come off the head in an instant. Then wearing a helmet will not be of any use. Even the risk of injury will increase.
Needless to say, when going out on the road, you must use an ISI marked helmet. Because, cheap helmets sold on the side of the road may save you from a fine. But they will not save your life in an accident. Even try to fasten the strap well with the helmet. Otherwise, you will have to pay a fine to the police.
