New Delhi. Big names in Indian cricket extended warm New Year wishes on Thursday, and welcomed 2026 with messages of hope, courage and positivity. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also extended its wishes and said, “Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year.”
International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman Jay Shah wrote on social media platform X, wishing fans a “year full of boundaries” and expressing hope that Sapne will “score big” in 2026. Former all-rounder Yuvraj Singh shared an inspiring message, appealing to people to keep believing in themselves and keep trying to give their best.
“When the day is tough, you don’t back down, you get up and do it again,” Yuvraj said, adding that he is thankful for the moments, people and experiences that made up the past year.
Former captain Anil Kumble wished everyone a happy new year and said, “Have a happy new beginning and a happy 2026 for all.” Indian men’s team head coach Gautam Gambhir also joined the celebrations and posted a personal note to welcome the New Year ‘hand in hand with my favorite people’, and wished everyone a happy 2026.
