New Delhi: The New Zealand cricket team has announced its squad for the upcoming tour against India. This tour will start from January 11, in which the first three ODI matches will be played. After this there will be a series of 5 T-20 matches between the two teams. New Zealand has made a significant change in its team for this tour, with left-arm orthodox spinner Jayden Lennox included in the ODI squad for the first time.
Michael Bracewell will be the ODI captain
Kyle Jamieson and Mitchell Santner have returned to this team. Jamieson has been selected for both the ODI and T20 series, while Santner will be a part of the T20 squad only. Michael Bracewell will take over as captain of the ODI team in Santner’s absence, following a long-term injury absence. Along with him, experienced players like Devon Conway, Darryl Mitchell, Will Young and Henry Nicholls have been included in the team.
Kane Williamson will not play in the ODI series
New Zealand’s experienced batsman Kane Williamson will be out of the ODI series this time. The reason behind his non-selection is said to be participation in the SA20 League. During this time, Mitch Hay will play the role of wicketkeeper, while Devon Conway will do wicketkeeping in the T-20 team. New Zealand has prepared an organized mix of experienced and new players for this tour.
