New Zealand beats India in Indore, wins ODI series for the first time

Indore: Thanks to brilliant centuries by Darrell Mitchell (137) and Glenn Phillips (106), New Zealand won the third ODI by defeating India by 41 runs. With this, the Kiwi team won the series 2-1. This is New Zealand’s first ODI series win in India, and India’s first defeat at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.

Kiwi team’s bad start

New Zealand, who came to bat first after losing the toss, suffered two major setbacks in the beginning. Arshdeep Singh, who came into the team in place of Prasidh Krishna, dismissed Henry Nicholls for a golden duck. After this, Harshit Rana got Devon Conway caught by Rohit Sharma. In this way, New Zealand lost two wickets on the score of 5 runs.

Century partnership between Mitchell and Phillips

Glenn Phillips supported Mitchell and there was a partnership of 219 runs on 186 balls for the fourth wicket, in which both scored centuries.

India got the target of 338 runs and Team India had a disappointing start. Rohit Sharma, who had not been able to play any big innings so far in this series, was caught out in the fourth over after scoring only 11 runs.
