New Zealand made the world’s first electric jet, one charge and travel of 500 km

Electric Aircraft News: Imagine that you are traveling above the clouds, but there is neither ear-splitting noise nor engine leaving smoke behind. This is not a fictional story, but is going to become a reality. Air New Zealand has started a revolution in the aviation world under Mission Next Generation Aircraft, which will eliminate our dependence on petrol and diesel in the coming time.

Recently, Air New Zealand surprised the world and completed the successful testing of its first all-electric aircraft. This is the foundation of that future flight, where the planes in the sky will run not on fuel but on electricity.

Jugalbandi between America and New Zealand

According to the report of Green Air News, Air New Zealand has signed an agreement with American company Beta Technologies for this historic project. Under this partnership, a revolutionary aircraft named ALIA has been selected. This aircraft is based on Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) technology. During testing, this aircraft did what was considered impossible. Flying over the rugged mountainous terrain and deep sea of New Zealand, this electric aircraft covered a distance of more than 480 kilometers on a single charge, which is a new world record for short routes.

Why is Elia aircraft special?

The biggest feature of this aircraft is that it is completely pollution free. Elia does not emit any carbon emissions while flying. Moreover, its noise is so low that it makes a quieter sound than any domestic vacuum cleaner or mixer. During testing, despite strong winds and bad weather, it proved its strength at a height of 2000 feet. It has been proven that electric engines have the same power as conventional turboprop engines.
