New Zealand captain Latham said this before the second test against India

Pune: Ahead of New Zealand's second Test match against India at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Kiwi captain Tom Latham said he is looking forward to going there and acclimatising to the conditions in Pune. The visiting team is entering the second Test after defeating India by eight wickets in the first match of the series. Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Latham said that he would include more spinners in the playing eleven if Pune gets some turn from the wicket.

“I think it's important for us to try to adapt as quickly as possible to what we're given; it's something we can't control with the wicket,” Latham was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo. So it's about going out there and trying to adapt as quickly as possible, and if it's a wicket that turns a bit more, obviously we've got four spinners in our line-up, so hopefully. “That will play into their hands, but yes, as I said, it's about trying to adapt on the run, and trying not to go into the game with too many biases.”

When asked about the win against India in the first Test match, the Kiwi captain said it was due to the team effort. “Yeah, obviously it's very special, I think… me, Graham Dowling and John Wright, it's really special to be in this position. But for me it was a team effort, it wasn't just me that won. You know, the players did a great job, and obviously it was last week, we obviously celebrated it was a special performance, but our focus quickly shifted to the game, and. “We're trying not to rest on what happened last week, but take the confidence we got from last week into this game, and hopefully we'll have a great performance,” he added.
