Sports Desk: New Zealand has taken a 1-0 lead in the series by defeating India in the first Test. It is a pleasant feeling for New Zealand to win the Test in India after 36 years. After the victory, New Zealand captain Tom Latham said that it is a special feeling to register a victory after a long time. This is a proud moment for the team. He also reminded that after winning the match, do not let your attention get distracted in the process of celebrating. The second test match will start from October 24.

New Zealand captain Tom Latham said that India has the strength to counter-attack. He said that we definitely know that there will be a challenge in the second Test against India, who have full potential to bounce back.

Latham has credited William O'Rourke, Matt Henry and Tim Southee for keeping the pressure on India during the Bengaluru Test. “I think the job we did with the new ball last evening was fantastic,” he said. We definitely knew that India would come back in the match and were happy that we did not have to chase a huge target to win. Latham made a century partnership for the eighth wicket between left-handed batsman Rachin Ravindra and Southee, due to which we were successful in making a big total.
