On the fourth day of the match, the Indian team had prepared for a big lead by batting strongly. While Sarfaraz Khan and Rishabh Pant had made Team India's comeback in the match with amazing batting, but after this the New Zealand bowlers made a tremendous comeback in the last session and reached the winning position in this match.

Sarfaraz and Pant played stormy innings
In this Test match, the Indian team came into play ahead of its third day's score of 231 runs for 3 wickets, and wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant along with unbeaten batsman Sarfaraz Khan batted tremendously. The partnership of 177 runs between the two for the fourth wicket turned the match. Sarfaraz Khan played an inning of 150 runs with the help of 18 fours and 3 sixes, while Pant was out for 99 runs in 105 balls with 9 fours and 5 sixes.
Kiwi team defeated Team India by 6 wickets in 29 runs.
At one time the Indian team had scored 408 runs for 3 wickets, but after the arrival of the new ball, the Kiwi fast bowlers made a strong comeback. First made Sarfaraz and then Pant walk. After this, Team India's innings completely faltered and 7 wickets fell in the next 54 runs, in which 6 batsmen returned to the pavilion in the last 29 runs.
