New Zealand team announced for Bangladesh tour, these players got place for ODI and T20 series
New Zealand vs Bangladesh: New Zealand’s ODI and T20 teams for the Bangladesh tour have been announced. Many players have returned in the white ball series to be held in April. Three fast bowlers Matt Fisher, Will O’Rourke and Blair Tickner have returned to the New Zealand team for the Bangladesh tour, due to which the team’s bowling attack looks very strong.
These three players were out of the team for some time due to injury. Will O’Rourke has returned to the ODI team after recovering from a back injury. At the same time, Matt Fisher has returned to the T20 team after recovering from a calf injury. Blair Tickner has been successful in making his place in the team in both formats after fully recovering from the ankle problem.
What did the coach say on the return of fast bowlers?
Team head coach Rob Walter expressed happiness over the return of the three fast bowlers. He said that these players have worked hard to make a comeback and their coming into the team will be very beneficial. He also said that nowadays cricket is happening continuously, hence it is very important to have depth in the bowling attack of the team.
Dean Foxcroft also returned
All-rounder Dean Foxcroft has also returned to the team, who has returned to the white-ball team for the first time since April 2024. Played a key role in taking Central Stags to the final in the 2025-26 domestic season. He was also the fourth highest run scorer in the tournament. Mitchell Santner has not been included in the team due to his participation in IPL 2026. Tom Latham will be seen leading the ODI and T20 team in place of Santner.
Young players were also included
Some young players who performed strongly for the New Zealand-A team against Sri Lanka have also been given a chance in the team. These include Muhammad Abbas, Aditya Ashok, Christian Clarke and Ben Sears. Clarke and Jayden Lennox impressed during New Zealand’s historic ODI series win in India earlier this year. The New Zealand team will leave for Bangladesh on 13 April. The team will start the tour with the ODI series, which is to be played on April 17.
