New Zealand won the Women's T20 World Cup title for the first time, South Africa was disappointed

ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024: In the final match played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, New Zealand won by defeating South Africa by 32 runs. With this historic victory, New Zealand captured the 2024 World Cup title.

South Africa won the toss and decided to bowl first, but the New Zealand team performed brilliantly and scored a challenging score of 158-5. In reply, the South African team failed to achieve the target of 159 runs and were limited to a score of 126/9 in 20 overs.

New Zealand's batting

Opener Suzie Bates gave a great start for New Zealand. However, she was out to Nonkululeko Mlaba after scoring 32 runs in 31 balls. After this, Amelia Kerr and Brooke Holiday played an important partnership. Kerr scored 43 runs and Halliday scored 38 runs, due to which the New Zealand team scored a strong score of 158/5 in the stipulated 20 overs.

South Africa's innings

South African captain Laura Wolvaardt played an inning of 33 runs in 27 balls, but could not lead her team to victory. New Zealand's bowlers performed brilliantly and kept South Africa's batsmen under pressure. Amelia Kerr and Rosemary Mair took three wickets each and restricted the opposition to a score of 126/9.
