News – 'Emergency' will not be released in theaters of Bangladesh
Mumbai . Bollywood film Emergency has been banned in Bangladesh. This decision has been taken considering the current tense political relations between India and Bangladesh and the subject matter of the film. This much-awaited film of Kangana Ranaut depicts the assassination of Bangladesh's first President and freedom fighter Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, which is a sensitive topic for the people there. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is called the Father of the Nation in Bangladesh. There is a fear that the sentiments of the people of Bangladesh may be hurt by depicting his murder in the film. Additionally, the film also depicts Indira Gandhi's role in the India-Pakistan War of 1971 and the independence of Bangladesh, which has become a cause for controversy. The journey of the film was also full of controversies. Earlier it was to be released on 14 June 2024, but due to the Lok Sabha elections, its release was postponed. After this, the date of 6th September was fixed, but the Censor Board refused to give certificate to the film. Kangana had to go to the High Court for this. After the court order, changes were made in some scenes, after which the Censor Board approved it.
'Emergency' is based on the events of the Emergency imposed in India during 1975-77. Kangana Ranaut is playing the role of former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi in it. This film is made under his direction. Kangana did extensive research for her character and her look has also been highly appreciated. Along with Kangana, stars like Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade and late actor Satish Kaushik will be seen in lead roles in the film. There is huge curiosity among the audience about the film.
