News – HDFC Bank's net profit increased by 2.2 percent

Mumbai . HDFC Bank Ltd., India's largest private bank, released its December quarter results on January 22. HDFC Bank's net profit rose 2.2 per cent year-on-year to Rs 16,736 crore from Rs 16,372.5 crore during the same quarter last year. This figure is slightly higher than the estimate of Rs 16,548 crore. The bank's net interest income (NII) increased 8 percent year-on-year to Rs 30,690 crore during the December quarter from Rs 30,653 crore in the previous quarter.
Gross NPA in this quarter was 1.42 percent, which was 1.36 percent in the previous quarter. At the same time, net NPA stood at 0.46 percent, which was 0.41 percent in the last quarter. Provision for the quarter stood at Rs 3,154 crore, compared to Rs 4,217 crore last year and Rs 2,700 crore in the September quarter.
