New Delhi, 28 February. After the joint attacks on Iran by America and Israel, the Middle East once again seems to be moving towards a serious war crisis. In retaliation, Iran launched missile attacks targeting US military bases located in Israel and Gulf countries. Meanwhile, news has now come that Iranian Defense Minister Amir Nasirzadeh and Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) commander Mohammad Pakpour were killed in the Israeli attack. This claim has been quoted by news agency Reuters from sources.
Considering the war environment, Air India has taken a big step. Due to security reasons, the company has stopped all its flights to the entire Middle East including Dubai, Doha, Riyadh and Tel Aviv with immediate effect. Apart from this, Air India flight AI139 going to Tel Aviv had to return to India midway. Air India has clarified in the advisory that the safety of passengers and crew is the top priority.
Foreign Ministry appealed to both sides to exercise restraint
On the war-like situation, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson said, ‘India is very concerned about the recent incidents in Iran and the Gulf region. We urge all parties to exercise restraint, avoid escalating tensions and give priority to the safety of the common people. Dialogue and diplomacy should be taken forward to reduce tension and resolve internal issues. The sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries must be respected. Our missions in the region are in touch with Indian citizens and have issued appropriate advisories to them to remain alert, stay in touch with missions and follow local safety guidelines.
Indians living in Israel advised to exercise caution
Here, the Government of India has issued an advisory for the safety of the Indians present in this region. The Indian Embassy located in Israel’s capital Tel Aviv has advised Indians living in Israel to exercise caution. The Indian Embassy in Tehran has also issued an advisory for Indian citizens living in Iran. In the advisory, all Indian citizens were advised to stay near the shelter. It has been asked to get information about safe places in residential or working areas. It is advised to avoid non-essential travel within Israel until further notice.

The Indian Embassy in Iran also shared a post on Twitter giving information about the advisory. The post said that in view of the changing situation, all Indian citizens in Iran are advised to exercise utmost caution. Also avoid unnecessary movement and stay indoors as much as possible.
