Poonam Chakraborty, resident of Bashir Khan Ward, Mungeli, was provided a gas stove and filled LPG cylinder under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Earlier, Poonam Chakraborty used to cook food with wood and sticks. Heavy smoke filled the house, causing eye irritation, difficulty in breathing and health problems. Also, collecting wood and cooking food on the stove took a lot of time, due to which food could not be prepared on time. Now after getting the gas connection, there is complete relief from smoke in his house. Time is being saved and the family is able to get clean and safe food on time. Poonam Chakraborty, a housewife of a three-member family, called this scheme a boon for her life and expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai.

Babita Kumhar also got relief

Babita Kumhar, another beneficiary of the same ward, was also provided a gas stove and filled cylinder under the Ujjwala scheme. In Babita Kumhar’s four-member family, earlier food was cooked with wood and firewood, which filled the house with smoke and had an adverse effect on the health of children and women. Now with gas facility, food is being prepared quickly and safely. This will not only improve health, but the family routine will also run smoothly.

The objective of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is to provide smoke-free kitchens to rural and urban poor families. This scheme is protecting women’s health, saving time and improving the standard of living. Due to effective implementation of the scheme, its benefits are being extended to the needy families, which realizes the public welfare thinking of the government. Both the beneficiaries said in one voice that Ujjwala Yojana has not only changed the kitchen of their house but also the life of the entire family, and for this they expressed their thanks and gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and the district administration.
