Madhya Pradesh has included green energy in the mainstream of development: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Bhopal : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reached Davos on Wednesday to attend the World Economic Forum-2026. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav participated in the high level round table meeting organized on the topic “De-risking the Green Leap: Sub National Blue Print for Utility Scale Energy Transition”. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav highlighted the central role of renewable energy in the energy journey of the state. He said that renewable energy is the cornerstone of inclusive and sustainable development of Madhya Pradesh. Describing the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as an inspiration, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state is moving rapidly in the direction of clean, affordable and reliable energy.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that inspired by the visionary thinking of Prime Minister Modi, Madhya Pradesh has included green energy in the mainstream of development. He said that inter-state cooperation and better coordination has brought stability in electricity and water supply in the state. This has benefited the common consumers as well as the industries. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also gave information about the progress and upcoming plans of new renewable projects related to solar energy and energy storage in the state.
In the concluding session of the round table meeting, Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy and Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Prahlad Joshi shared the green energy vision of India and Prime Minister Modi. He reiterated the Central Government’s commitment towards policy stability in the renewable energy sector and said that it will prove beneficial for consumers and the energy sector. Union Minister Joshi praised the reform-oriented states, especially Madhya Pradesh. He said that Madhya Pradesh’s solar energy related achievements can be shared at the global level. He described Madhya Pradesh’s model of reducing risks in clean energy through better coordination of labour, land and energy as remarkable and emphasized on technology investment and blended finance.
Madhya Pradesh’s New and Renewable Energy Minister Rakesh Shukla, Director General, International Solar Alliance Ashok Khanna, Additional Chief Secretary New and Renewable Energy Manu Srivastava, Principal Secretary Technical Education, Skill Development and Employment Manish Singh, Principal Secretary Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Raghavendra Kumar Singh, Managing Director Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board Dr. Ilaiah Raja T, Commissioner Public Relations Deepak Kumar Saxena and MD MPIDC Chandramauli Shukla were present in the round table meeting. A draft framework was presented in the meeting to encourage private investment in the renewable energy sector.
Madhya Pradesh abroad Renewable energy policy appreciated
Emil Alestianto Dardak, vice-governor of Indonesia’s East Java province, said sub-national governments can also play an important role in guiding national policy change. He appreciated the progressive policies of Madhya Pradesh in the field of renewable energy.
Participants at the round table meeting included corporate representatives from global and domestic companies and investors, who learned about state policies, availability of green energy, and new technologies and innovations such as data centres. The discussions also emphasized the need for a balance between regulatory requirements and ground realities. It was also discussed how regional or sub-national governments like Madhya Pradesh can lead innovation in this area.
