New process of darshan in Mahakal temple on New Year, new system will be implemented from December 25
Ujjain Preparations to welcome the New Year have intensified at Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain. Every year lakhs of devotees gather here from the end of December to the first week of January. This time too, the estimate of the crowd is so big that the administration has already decided to make necessary changes in the darshan system. The deployment of security and operation teams is being increased from the temple complex to Mahakal Lok, so that the devotees can have easy darshan without any chaos.
This new system, which will be implemented from December 25, is also important because last year the system had faltered several times due to crowd. This time the objective of the administration is clear, no matter how much crowd comes, the darshan should be uninterrupted, and the devotees should have a comfortable experience. Let us know what changes have been made, which rules will be applicable and what it means for the devotees.
Why was the new philosophy introduced?
Mahakal Temple attracts extraordinary crowds from the last week of December till New Year. Especially from 28 December to 1 January, the number of devotees here increases manifold. Last year, the crowd had broken records. Hours of waiting, long queues, elderly devotees struggling with lack of oxygen, and immense pressure on security teams were seen. This time the administration wants to be prepared in advance. So that the speed of the crowd is controlled, children, elderly and disabled people do not face any problem, there is no hindrance in the darshan, for these reasons changes will be implemented in the darshan system from December 25, so that the entire system remains strong to handle the New Year crowd.
What will change the new arrangement of Mahakal Temple?
Changes in entry and exit routes from December 25
This time the devotees will be sent forward in controlled numbers through the main entry route of the temple. The crowd will be allowed to enter the temple premises in batches. Additional barricades will be installed on the routes coming from Mahakal Lok. DG set, control room and CCTV monitoring will be active 24 hours. The administration says that the new route will reduce crowd pressure and devotees will be able to reach the sanctum sanctorum faster.
Strict rules for Bhasma Aarti
Every year on New Year, Bhasma Aarti attracts the maximum crowd. This time only those with online booking will be able to enter the Bhasma Aarti, no devotee will be able to reach the Aarti site without a pass, the security check will be more stringent than before, this rule is also being implemented so that a situation like stampede or overcrowding does not arise at the Aarti site.
Change in visiting hours
Keeping in mind the New Year crowd, slight changes can be made in the timings of darshan. The temple will open early in the morning, if the crowd increases, the administration can extend the timings in the morning or evening, there are preparations to implement one-way system in some special areas, this will keep the queue of devotees moving forward and the obstruction will be reduced.
Effect of new system on VIP darshan also
VIP darshan will also be controlled in view of the crowd. Separate gate for VIP entry, limited number of passes, it will be ensured that there is no hindrance in the darshan of ordinary devotees, the administration believes that VIP passes should not go out of control during rush hour, hence new control is necessary on this part also.
Special arrangements will be made in Mahakal Lok also
The beauty of Mahakal Lok attracts a large number of tourists on New Year. This time, cleanliness and lighting of pedestrian routes in Mahakal Lok will be increased, the number of security and women police force will be doubled, guiding teams will remain active till evening, additional staff will be deployed in the parking area, Ujjain administration wants that every traveler coming to Mahakal Lok starts the new year in a safe and peaceful environment.
